SUCCESSFUL LIVING PROGRAM

The Successful Living Program is centered around loving people, assisting participants with wise lifestyle choices, in authentic community, for 18 months after graduation. The heart of the Successful Living Program is intentional coaching/mentoring specifically designed for each participant’s personal goals, strengths and life journey. A person who commits to the 18-month Successful Living Program after graduation and has a life that is accountable.

When a person graduates the Adult & Teen Challenge Society of BC Program there are 4 options for continued accountability. These individuals are committing to being involved with the Successful Living Program for 18 months:

1. Student in Transition (SIT)

Defined as a graduate who is in a transition period between graduation, moving out of the centre and their employment is off-site. The purpose of SIT is to stabilize the graduate and help this person transition into a workplace as a Godly example. We provide our graduates with the continued spiritual, emotional, physical and mental supports that they need.

2. Second Year Student (SYS)

Defined as a graduate who is in a transition period between graduation, moving out of the centre and works as a full-time volunteer for the ministry. The purpose of a 2nd yr. position is to stabilize the graduate and help this person stay focused on their future, developing an exit plan that includes steady employment, a safe home life and a Christian community.

3. Re-Entry Student (RES)

Defined as a graduate who has an exit plan that includes steady employment, a safe home life and a Christian community. This person is wanting accountability from Adult & Teen Challenge BC for 18 months following their graduation in order to give them the highest level of success.

4. SURGE Student

Defined as someone who has the call of full-time vocational ministry on their life within Adult & Teen Challenge BC. There is a separate application and process for being accepted as a SURGE Student. The focus of this program is to increase the graduate’s chance of long-term success, within the context of ministry service to others. We want to allow the graduate time to use the skills they have learned in the first-year program. They will grow in dedication to their commitment to sobriety, pro-social behavior and being employable, with the opportunity to grow in times of failure and disappointment. Ultimately, their surrender and dedication will be to becoming an exemplary follower of Jesus, leading and helping others through servant leadership.
