At Adult & Teen Challenge BC, we believe lasting transformation begins with God. He is at the centre of who we are and the foundation of our approach to recovery. Our goal is to walk alongside each person as they discover that recovery is not simply about overcoming addiction, but about finding new life, purpose, identity, and hope in Christ. We introduce individuals to the hope found in Jesus Christ—sometimes for the very first time.
Adult & Teen Challenge BC remains firmly committed to our 12-month discipleship program, where we believe the greatest opportunity for long-term transformation and lasting success takes place. At the same time, we recognize that taking the first step into recovery can feel overwhelming. Our 90-day DISCOVERY Program provides an accessible starting point for individuals who may not yet be ready to commit to a full year. It gives participants an opportunity to step into a safe, supportive environment, experience recovery, build healthy foundations, and discover what life can look like beyond addiction.
For those who need continued care and are ready to go deeper, the pathway from DISCOVERY into our full 12-month program is seamless. DISCOVERY is an opportunity to begin the journey. Our hope is that participants will experience enough healing, stability, relationship, and spiritual growth to choose continued discipleship and work toward lasting change.
The Discovery Program includes four key areas:
Biblical & Spiritual Growth
Participants explore foundational Christian beliefs, learn how to study the Bible, develop spiritual practices, and grow in their relationship with God.
Personal Growth
Individualized studies and personal growth assignments help participants address areas of their lives that need healing, growth, and restoration, while learning to living in freedom from addiction and building a purposeful life.
Work & Vocational Training
Through practical responsibilities and vocational training, participants develop workplace skills, accountability, teamwork, discipline, and a strong work ethic.
Assessment & Transition Planning
As participants approach completion, their progress is reviewed and individualized next steps are developed to support continued growth and a successful transition.
Completion & Next Steps
The Discovery Program is designed around a 13-week framework, but we recognize that every person’s journey is different. Participants move forward at a pace that allows them to fully complete the requirements of the program.
A Certificate of Completion is awarded when all program requirements have been successfully completed, whether that takes 90 days or longer.
For participants who are ready to continue their journey, Discovery provides a seamless pathway into Adult & Teen Challenge BC’s full 12-month discipleship program. Students can transition into the Development and Transformational phases, continuing to build on the foundation established during Discovery.
